Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) 1000, also called Dimethicone 1000 or dimethylpolysiloxane 1000 centistokes, is a silicone polymer with various uses, from cosmetics to industrial lubrication.

Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) 1000 has been used as a surface-active agent to decrease surface tension in various solutions owing to its hydrophobicity. 

Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) films are primarily used as protective films from corrosion as they form very stable bonds on surfaces, and a silica network enhances the properties of deposited surfaces.
