Mergal K10N by Troy Corporation is a non-skin sensitizing benzisothiazolinone formulation. 

It is a VOC-free, liquid bactericide/fungicide. Acts as an in-can preservative for control of bacteria, yeast and fungi. 

Mergal K10N is used in waterborne paints, stucco/masonry coatings, EIFS coatings and other coating products where water is a component.

MERGAL K10N is an industrial BIT ( 1,2-benzisothiazoline-3-one) based preservative used to prevent deterioration and degradation caused by bacteria in aqueous systems. 

MERGAL K10N provides long-term wet-state (in-can) preservation. 

The product offer excellent stability and compatibility even with difficult formulations/systems.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

MERGAL K10N is an industrial preservative used to prevent deterioration and degradation caused by bacteria and fungi in aqueous systems. 

Mergal K10N is suitable for a wide range of conditions and can be used at pHs of 3-13. Since

Mergal K10N contains no organic solvents, it is especially suited for applications where VOC is a concern. 

Mergal K10N can be added at any stage of production, but it is recommended that the addition be made to the water in the beginning of the process.

Note: Strong oxidizing agents such as peroxides can inactivate MergalK10N. 

Use rates are provided, but laboratory/field trials are suggested in order to determine the most appropriate rate of use within the range specified on this label.

This product is an effective preservative in most aqueous oil recovery products:

Drilling Fluids, Packer Fluids, Completion Fluids:

Polysaccharide fluid loss control agents and thickeners such as starch, guar, and xanthan gum at a use rate of 0.1 – 0.3% on fluid weight or 3.0 – 9.0% on the dry polysaccharide weight.

Subsurface Injection Waters such as Polymer and Micellar/polymer Waterfloods:

Thickeners such as polysaccharides and xanthan gum at a use rate of 0.1 – 0.3% on the solution weight. 

Mergal K10N

Mergal K10N is a VOC-free, water-based preservative to prevent deterioration and degradation caused by bacteria and fungi. For use in water-borne adhesives, sealants, and pigment slurries. In ceramics it is useful in bodies and glazes. This low viscosity solution is free of solvents and surfactant and is convenient to handle year-round. Add as early in production as possible.

Typical Dose: 0.05 wt. % – 0.4 wt. % (in-package protection)

Applicable to products with a range of pH 3 – 13

Heat stable to 100° C
