Propriétés de l'application
Hostagel LT est une combinaison d'épaississants hydrophiles / hydrophobes composée d'ester stéarate de polyglycérol hautement éthoxylé et d'un alcool gras éthoxylé. C'est un liquide facile à utiliser et adapté au processus à froid qui permet un épaississement sans impact négatif sur le pouvoir moussant des surfactants.Hostagel LT est un épaississant efficace pour de nombreuses applications de soins à domicile comme les liquides de lavage à la main, les liquides légers ou les prétraiteurs. Il convient particulièrement aux formulations de tensioactifs difficiles à épaissir, par ex. si le chlorure de sodium n'est pas efficace.

L'épaississant hydrophile comprend un squelette hydrosoluble avec plusieurs bras hydrophobes qui peuvent réticuler physiquement les micelles. Dans la plupart des systèmes tensioactifs, il montre une diminution constante de la viscosité avec la température sans dégradation à basse température.L'épaississant hydrophobe est un tensioactif à faible HLB qui peut favoriser la formation de micelles en forme de bâtonnet seul ou en combinaison avec du chlorure de sodium. La viscosité de telles formulations peut se dégrader à des températures plus basses, de sorte qu'il existe une région anormale dans laquelle la viscosité augmente fortement avec la température. La combinaison des deux types d'épaississant permet aux formulateurs de minimiser les effets de la température sur la viscosité. En utilisant Hostagel LT, la viscosité à la fois basse (c'est-à-dire 0 ° C) et haute température (c'est-à-dire 40 ° C) peut être stabilisée, ce qui se traduit par une meilleure stabilité au stockage des formulations correspondantes.
Conseils de manipulation
Hostagel LT est un épaississant efficace pour les solutions aqueuses, mais n'est pas soluble dans l'eau dans toutes les proportions. Application properties
Hostagel LT is a hydrophilic / hydrophobic thickener combination composed of stearate ester of highly ethoxylated Polyglycerol and an ethoxylated fatty alcohol. It is an easy-to-use liquid and suitable for cold process which allows thickening without negative impact on the foaming power of the surfactants.Hostagel LT is an effective thickener for many Home Care applications like Hand dishwashing liquids, light duty liquids or pretreaters. It is especially suitable for hard-to-thicken surfactant formulations, e.g. if sodium chloride is not effective.

The hydrophilic thickener comprises a water soluble backbone with several hydrophobic arms which can physically crosslink micelles. In most surfactant systems, it shows a steady decrease of viscosity with temperature without a break-down at low temperatures.The hydrophobic thickener is a low HLB surfactant that can promote the formation of rod like micelles either by itself or in combination with sodium chloride. The viscosity of such formulations can break down at lower temperatures, so that there is an anomalous region in which viscosity increases strongly with temperature.Combining both types of thickener enables formulators to minimize temperature effects on viscosity. By using Hostagel LT, the viscosity at both low (i.e. 0°C) and high temperature (i.e. 40°C) can be leveled off, resulting in improved storage stability of corresponding formulations.
Handling advice
Hostagel LT is an effective thickener for aqueous solutions, but is not soluble in water in all proportions. If mixed with surfactants, the thickener is dissolved and the rheology can be adjusted to the desired viscosity of the final product.Typically, Hostagel LT is added as the last component of the formulation.Hostagel LT is suitable for cold process; however the dissolution time can be shortened by heating to 40 – 50°C. It is best used at a pH between 5.0 and 8.5.
Storage
Hostagel LT is stable for at least one year at room temperature in its original unopened containers.
