Phenoxypropanol is clear, colorless liquid. Due to its low evaporation rate, coalescing ability and solvency power in water borne systems, Phenoxypropanol can be used in a variety of application areas such as a solvent in printing and ball point inks, as a carrier for textile dyes, as a coalescent in water-based coatings and adhesives, as an additive for dewaxing cleaners, e.g. for metals and floors, as a fixative for perfumes.

Product Description
Phenoxypropanol is a slow-evaporating, very hydrophobic glycol ether ideal in coalescing and carrier solvent applications.
Phenoxypropanol is a slow evaporating, very hydrophobic glycol ether — more hydrophobic than would be expected based simply on its molecular weight.
Phenoxypropanol has low odor.
With its aromatic structure, Phenoxypropanol glycol ether is an excellent match for phenolic coatings and linings; phenoxypropanol is also an excellent coalescent for acrylic-based latexes.
Phenoxypropanol is also used extensively in dyeing applications, where it can function as both a dye solubilizer and as a dye carrier.
Phenoxypropanol has superior viscosity reduction properties in metalworking fluids.
Phenoxypropanol or 2-phenoxypropanol is a clear, colourless and odourless liquid with 20 APHA Max and a pH value of 7 to 8 approximately.
Phenoxypropanol has a shelf life of almost 2 years. It is mainly used as a preservative and solvent in various products.
Phenoxypropanol is used as the main ingredient in the manufacturing of aromatic chemicals, preservatives, disperse dye intermediaries, and ethoxylates.
Phenoxypropanol has wide applications as optical brighteners, pigments and dyestuffs. It is also used in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical agents, polymer auxiliaries, technical liquids and solvents for polymers.
Phenoxypropanol is one of the main ingredients in the manufacturing of rubber and latex, plastic and rubber polymers, specialities and organic solvents.
Uses of Phenoxypropanol: High-boiling solvent, bactericidal agent, fixative for soaps and perfumes, intermediate for plasticizers.
Applications of Phenoxypropanol
• Latex coalescent in water-based architectural and industrial coatings.
• Carrier solvent for textile dyes.
• Solvent for inks in ball point and felt tip pens, stamp pads, and textile printing pastes.
• Paint removers.
• Coalescent for latex adhesives.
• Useful in the formulation of homogeneous, stable metalworking fluids.
