It is clear, colorless liquid. Due to its low evaporation rate, coalescing ability and solvency power in water borne systems, Phenoxypropanol can be used in a variety of application areas such as a solvent in printing and ball point inks, as a carrier for textile dyes, as a coalescent in water-based coatings and adhesives, as an additive for dewaxing cleaners, e. g. for metals and floors, as a fixative for perfumes.
